Welcome to John James Bristol Foundation

Education Home Remembering the past,
Reaching to the future,
Giving back to Bristol

The John James Bristol Foundation is a grant making trust which was established by the philanthropy of John James in December 1983. John was born on 25 July 1906 at 96 Philip Street, Bedminster, and he died in Bristol on 31 January 1996. During his lifetime, in his struggle to reach the top, John never forgot his roots, and his legacy lives on in the endowment he left to the people of Bristol in the John James Bristol Foundation.

Elderly Home

Grants are made to charitable organisations working for the benefit of Bristol residents. The trustees make every effort to grant money diversely in each financial year so that the overall well being of as many residents of Bristol as possible is enhanced.

Health Home

The main areas of focus for the John James Bristol Foundation are education, health and the elderly. These are all areas supported by John James in his life time, and the Foundation’s trustees endeavour to continue the work he began. Links with the past are however coupled with a strong vision for the future needs of Bristol and its residents.
